Vail Industries was created to be the first tech business in the United States to design a vitals monitoring wearable for children over the age of 1 year.

The founders discovered the need for this device after a deeply personal tragedy: The loss of their happy, healthy,16 month old daughter, Vail.  Unable to determine the reasons why Vail passed in her sleep, her death was categorized as Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC).

In the months that followed her death, the Nelsons could not find a way to stop the constant worry for the well-being of their surviving child, Aspen, age 4.

While they found and utilized a night-time monitoring device, it wasn't enough to calm their fears.  Nor did that device do anything to collect data to contribute to the research desperately needed to determine the cause of SUDC.

It was during this time that the VAIL Monitor concept came to life. The vision of the device is to provide superior vitals monitoring, multiple alert systems, GPS location security, and industry leading data management.
